WELCOME

The Community Acupuncture concept makes it affordable for everyone. It is because the treatments are given in this community environment that we can keep the prices low.

Patients who have tried acupuncture in a community setting find it very relaxing and therapeutic.

When you walk into Hallandale Health Spa & Clinic, you will likely see a few other patients lying in comfortable Lazy-Boy recliners.   There’s a good chance some will be sleeping with relaxing music, or you may also hear a bit of snoring.

Many patients have stated that having other people in the room made them feel more comfortable about acupuncture, especially their first experiences with it.

We are confident you will find your experience at the office to be valuable in helping you reach your goals.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a treatment based on Chinese medicine, a system of healing that dates back thousands of years.

Chinese medicine explains Acupuncture to be the restoration of balance that a type of life force, or energy, known as Qi flows through energy pathways (meridians) in the body to restore balance.

According to Chinese medicine, everything in nature has both yin and yang.

The effects of acupuncture are complex.

Studies show that acupuncture therapy is effective in improving emotional and mental well-being and easing symptoms associated with specific mental health disorders, such as anxiety, fear, worry, lassitude, dream-disturbed sleep, poor memory, obsessive-compulsive disorders. psychosomatic disorders, negative pessimistic thinking and depression.

Acupuncture needles are thin, disposable, sterile, suitable for treatments close to ecology and nature, for acupuncture without chemicals.

  • Acupuncture involves the usage of therapeutic needles in order to bring relief in a broad range physical, mental or emotional conditions.

  • Acupuncture is truly a piece of traditional Chinese medicine. It is one tool in a box of many.

  • Moxabustion (“moxa” for short) is an herb (mugwort) that gets burned over the skin to, very simply, help restore warmth and flow to any particular area of the body. Pain or weakness are common applications of moxibustion.

  • Cupping utilizes suction to break up certain types of congestion in the tissues. Cough, pain and stiffness are some of the most common reasons for utilizing cupping, and in most circumstances the treatment is painless.

  • Herbal medicine is based on the very particular presentation of each patient, and can be used to simultaneously address both the root cause of an illness, in addition to its symptoms. Healing often equates with reminding the body how to be healthy, and herbal medicine can frequently provide a more efficient means to that end than physical techniques alone.

  • Dietary therapy, while in a sense self-explanatory, is based on the idea of using food as medicine and varies based on whether a person is weak or strong, whether they tend to be cold or hot, the strength of their digestion, etc.

  • Qigong is a branch of Chinese medicine that basically impresses upon the importance of movement as it pertains to health. There are many forms and styles of Qigong.

Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular acupuncture is the stimulation of acupuncture points on the external ear surface for the diagnosis and treatment of health conditions in other areas of the body.

Ear acupuncture has proven to be an efficient method of treating a wide variety of conditions, many studies have shown it is an effective treatment for weight loss, PTSD, menstrual pain, headaches, insomnia, anxiety, and stress, and many other conditions; it’s an effective alternative to narcotic pain management because auricular acupuncture works without side effects, and without compromising ability to daily function.

One of the benefits of ear acupuncture is its ease of application. It can be provided while the patient is seated, and there is no need to take off any clothing. This quickly became an attractive option for many people. It’s also an effective way to treat pain without applying needles to the area that hurts.

What is with the range?

We want to see people receiving acupuncture and getting better. Often the best way to see great results with acupuncture is to get multiple treatments. We want to separate the issues that may be keeping people from being able to fulfill their treatment plans. Often money can become a barrier. We will never ask for you to verify your income, we understand that everyone’s financial situation comes with variables. We give everyone the same high quality acupuncture treatment regardless of what works for you on the payment scale.

What to expect on your first visit.

Please arrive to your appointment wearing  loose, comfortable clothing. There will be an initial assessment by one of the acupuncturists to determine your diagnosis and what is your primary health complaint after which your treatment will begin. The treatment involves one-use, sterile needles into your scalp, legs, feet, arms, hands and face. You will spend the rest of your treatment relaxing or even sleeping in one of our comfortable Lazy-Boy recliners. Many patients have stated that having other people in the room made them feel more comfortable about acupuncture, especially their first experiences with it.

We are confident you will find your experience at the office to be valuable in helping you reach your goals.

Pulse Diagnosis

In traditional Chinese medicine, pulse diagnosis is used to check a variety of functions. Primary among these are the condition of the patient's blood and qi, an invisible type of life force or energy that travels through the body's acupuncture meridians. Using pulse diagnosis, an acupuncturist can determine areas of the body that may have disruptions or blockages of qi, and may also be able to determine the condition of certain internal organs.

Pulse diagnosis is considered an essential part of the practice of traditional Chinese medicine. It has been practiced in both China and Japan for centuries, and while it is difficult to master and considered somewhat subjective by physicians in the West, it remains an important diagnostic tool by both TCM practitioners and patients.

Pulse diagnosis is a quick, inexpensive, and noninvasive diagnostic tool. When performed by a trained professional, it can be an effective way of determining the health condition of a patient.

Acupuncture Therapy

Traditional Chinese acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years to relieve pain, to release muscle spams, to diagnose the causes of and treat physical, emotional and mental illness and to recreate homeostasis of our Vital Energy, (Qi).

Most important of all acupuncture prevents imbalances, blockages, agonies and illnesses and thereby to facilitate health and longevity.
